Q: How big is the current MTMC campus?
A: Covering 18.73 acres, the existing MTMC campus includes five buildings; a parking garage and six surface parking lots. The main building, located at 400 North Highland Ave., was established as Rutherford Hospital in 1927 and contained 37 beds. Currently, the hospital operates 216 beds and treats more than 150,000 patients a year.

Q: What criteria will be used to determine the best use for the existing campus?
A: Our goal is to ensure that the campus contributes to a high quality of life in surrounding neighborhoods, has a positive economic impact on Murfreesboro, is consistent with community values, complements existing businesses and services, is aesthetically attractive and is economically viable to MTMC.

Q: How is the decision being made on how the campus will be used?
A: MTMC has established an advisory board of local business and community leaders to advise on the best new uses for the current campus. The goal is to make sure that the campus will continue to benefit the entire community after MTMC moves to the new campus.
